May Favourites ♥

These past few days have been crazy! I graduated from university then moved back home (so had to sort through a mountain of bags). Now that’s all sorted I thought I’d sit down and write my monthly favourites! I only have four this month as I haven’t really had chance to do lots of product shopping because of my uni deadlines!

Impulse – True Love Body Spray

I used to wear this when I was younger, I recently re-bought some. I love the floral smell, it’s perfect to have in your bag for Summer if you want to freshen up. I love the impulse ‘tease’ body spray too. It’s not too overpowering. You also have the choice of two sizes so the smaller one is perfect for your handbag. It’s only £1 too, so really good value for money.

Superdrug’s Solait False Tanning Lotion

I bought this years ago and just replace it every time I run out. I wanted a tan that would look natural and not streaky or orange. This one is perfect! I use medium to dark and do about 2-3 layers (there is also a light to medium option). It’s super easy to use, lasts a while and doesn’t have the ‘fake tan smell’. It smells like coconut and actually lasts after a few showers too! It’s really natural looking (people don’t believe me when I tell them it’s fake). It is more of a cream too as opposed to a mousse so doesn’t make any mess! £6.99 from Superdrug.

L’Oreal Elvive Nutri-Gloss Shine Shampoo and Conditioner

I bought them on offer this month for £1.99 (each) from Boots. I am such a girly girl so must admit the pink sparkly packaging and sparkles in the shampoo/conditioner kind of drew me towards them! I definitely wasn’t disappointed, they made my hair really soft and shiny. Also it smells lovely as well. The only downside is the product comes out waaay too fast so you end up using more than you intended but I loved the products themselves!

Soap and Glory Mist You Madly Body Spray

£6.50 from Boots (and in the 3 for 2 offer). I loveeee Soap and Glory’s bodysprays! It is a fresh/sweet smell. I love how it’s a body mist as well (as I never really buy body mists). The smell stays on your clothes/you for a while too. I think the sprays are a great value for money.

Today I did a skydive!

My friend Lizzie and I after the jump

Today I did a skydive! I did it to raise money for the Breast Cancer Campaign, when I put everything together I will have raised £400 for this amazing cause!

I have always wanted to do a skydive and my university were offering the chance to do one in their ‘choose a challenge’ evening. So I signed up then seven months later the day finally came! I was so excited for it I only managed to have four and a half hours sleep the night before! A group of us went from the university on a coach to a local airfield. Once we got there we were briefed on what to expect, what positions to do at certain altitudes (the safety stuff really). I was one of the first to jump! I was more excited than nervous because I’m quite good with heights. We climbed into the little plane (which had no seats and a sliding see-through door!). The flight up was quite cool because I have never been in a plane that small before. I was then attached to my skydiver because I did a tandem. Then when we got to 13,000 feet above the clouds it was my time to jump!

We shuffled to the edge, the plane door was open and I dangled my feet over the edge! This was the scariest bit because all I could see were clouds. It is honestly what I imagined heaven to be like, it was so peaceful. It was quite cold at the top and progressively became warmer the closer to the ground I got so I wore gloves! I had to cross my hands over my chest, put my head back and arch my back ready for the free fall. The free fall was really amazing! Floating in the clouds, just enjoying what felt to me like flying. I had such a good time, it lasted for about 50 seconds before Chris pulled the parachute. Then we shot up and began to descend. The views were absolutely incredible! If you have ever seen Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (the original version) when they fly in the glass lift – that’s what it felt like!

It was literally the best experience of my life. The feeling you get from skydiving is so unexplainable – the adrenaline, the excitement and the nerves all at one time! I really enjoyed it and would do it again! The guys at the airfield made us all feel so comfortable and not nervous at all.

In the grand scheme of things I am more proud of the money I have raised than doing the actual jump itself. To be able to help people who have breast cancer by raising £400 is incredible. The university raised well over £6,000 for breast cancer from the skydives alone – which is phenomenal!

I will never forget this experience! I had a cameraman so have photos and videos and when they get sent to me I will upload it to my blog and you all can have a good laugh at me screaming the whole way down in true Sophie style!

A Review of Rimmel Kate Moss Matte 107 Lipstick

2015-05-09 19.53.31

Rimmel Kate Matte Lipstick Wine 107

Why/where did I buy it?

I had seen this lipstick appear so many times in Youtuber Zoella’s videos and she has always raved about it. It is a burgundy/ deep red colour, which I love. Also in comparison to my MAC lipsticks it is super cheap too. It cost me £5.49 – you can purchase it from Superdrug, Boots and Savers.

What are my thoughts on it?

To say it is a matte based lipstick I didn’t really need to prime my lips as much as I would for my MAC lipsticks. It’s super easy to apply. I absolutely love the colour but it does need to be reapplied fairly often (unless you are going for the ombre lip look!). It doesn’t dry out your lips like a lot of matte lipsticks do either which is good! It is my new favourite lipstick!

Would I buy again?

As soon as this one runs out I will definitely be buying it again! Such a good value for money. I would recommend it!

I’m (left) wearing it on a night out with one of my good friends

The Real Neat Blog Award

I want to say a massive thank you to Daisy aka for my FIFTH award nomination! So crazy! I absolutely love her blog! She did a post about what she loves about each of her followers, I thought that that was such a lovely, personal and kind thing to do! She puts a lot of time and effort into her blog and it’s fab! So make sure to check it out and give her a follow! 🙂

OK, so these are the rules…

1) Put the award logo on your blog.
2) Answer 7 questions asked by the person who nominated you.
3) Thank the person who nominated you, linking to their blog.
4) Nominate any number of bloggers you like, linking to their blogs.
5) Let them know you nominated them (by commenting on their blog etc.)

Here are my questions woo let’s get started!!

What is one thing that you’ve never done before, but you’d really like to try?

One thing I would love to try but haven’t yet is swimming with dolphins! It is always something I have wanted to do – definitely on my bucket list!

What was your favourite movie as a child?

When I was little-little I loved The Little Mermaid and Toy Story. But when I was about 6/7 onwards Grease was my favourite movie (and still is). I used to be always watching it, I knew every single word of the whole film. Grease is like the whoooollleeee family’s favourite film. Me and my uncle used to make up Grease quizzes for each other to keep me occupied hahaa

You have met Marty Mcfly and Doc Brown, and they have offered you a ride in the Delorian to any time period of your choosing. When do you choose and why?

The Victorian era! That is my favourite period in literature. I loveee to read about it so would definitely like to travel back in time to then!

Since it was recently May the 4th (May the fourth be with you! Hahaha) what is your favourite geeky/nerdy thing?

I am a bit of a geek/nerd all-round really! Doing an english lit degree, reading is like my favourite thing ever so 95% of the time if you look in my handbag I’ll have a book or magazine of some kind because lets face it you never know when you might want to read! haha!

If you could create a new word for the English language, what would it be? What is its definition?

One of my favourite sayings is ‘this too shall pass’. It’s such a good phrase if you are going through a bad time or just had a bad day so I would make up a word which means that, so I can say it to people to reassure them that bad moments are only temporary.

What is your favourite board game?

Ooh I love a good family game of cluedo or monopoly. My grandparents used to play monopoly with my sister and I in the school holidays when we were younger and it would be so funny because me and my sister just made up our own rules to it so would obviously always win!

What song could you listen to 100 times but never get tired of?

MKTO – Classic. I absolutely loveee the acoustic version!

I nominate…..

Here are my questions!

1) What is your favourite quote?

2) Which place (out of the places you have travelled to) is your favourite?

3) Where would you like to visit?

4) What is something that you are looking forward to?

5) What would you say are your greatest achievements?

6) What are your favourite books?

7) Five items which you would take to a desert island.
