Halloween in Newcastle

This weekend I went up to Newcastle to spend Halloween with my sister. We had lovely meals, drinks and shopping time together!

We went to Jamie’s Italian in the city centre. It was so yummy!

Eeeek thank you so much to Clarina for nominating me for the Beauty Blogger Award! I loveeee receiving these! Make sure to check out her blog and her Youtube channel!

I would like to nominate anybody who would like to do this tag! xox

Here gooooes…

What’s your number one holy grail high street or ‘drugstore’ product?

It would have to be vaseline! I swear by it – whether it is chapped lips/skin, holding your eyebrow shape in place, highlighting your cheek bones – I love it! It is so kind to skin and soo unbelievably cheap!

Which product is currently on the top of your wishlist?

MAC Sculpt and Shape Powder to add to my contour product collection!

 Sculpt and Shape Powder

How long have you been blogging for?

I’ve been blogging now for almost three years! It has gone super quick and my blog has evolved so much over those three years. I am so happy with the direction it has taken. It all started in my room at my halls of residence at university!

What’s your favourite item of clothing for the cooler months?

I love my knit wear! My Grandma gave me a dark pink turtle neck jumper last winter and I absolutely love it! She has the matching one in light pink!

What inspired you to start your blog?

A few things inspired me really. I watched the film ‘Perfect Man’ when I was younger and had my Hilary Duff obsession. In that film the main character has a blog and it really interested me but when I was little blogging really wasn’t a thing or wasn’t as big as it is now. Another thing which inspired me to start my blog was Carrie Bradshaw! She’s a cosmopolitan, fashion loving writer from New York in the well known programme Sex and The City – and well who wouldn’t want to be her?!

The favourite part of your makeup routine?

Contouring! I loveeee contouring! I have now worked out (after a lot of trial and error!) the best shapes and shades for the different parts of my face now! I love contouring with my Sephora contouring kit – it is definitely my favourite make up item I own at the moment!

What’s your favourite brand of makeup?

MAC is definitely my favourite brand of make up. Even though at times it can be quite costly, all my items I have bought from there are amazing quality and last such a long time! I want to know that what I am putting on my skin is good for it and I can guarantee when I buy MAC branded products that I won’t have an allergic reaction or anything. Also I think the products themselves are incredible – the lipsticks especially are amazing!

What’s one product you think everyone should own?

Simple Moisturiser Light. I literally swear by this. I use it as a primer, as a moisturiser, as a hand cream and as an aftersun. It is super cheap (often in the 3 for 2 deal at Boots). I always buy this product about 3 at a time! It makes my skin feel so fresh and unlike other moisturisers it doesn’t leave your skin feeling oily. Also it’s great for all skin types – my younger cousin uses it as well as my Grandma!

What is your favourite skin care product that you feel has made the most difference in your skin?

Probably Simple Cleanser, Simple Toner and Simple Moisturiser Light used together. The cleanse-tone-moisturise routine did my skin wonders! These products are so friendly to my skin and are high street brands too so they don’t break the bank!

If you could have any celebrities hair, whose would it be?

It would have to be the old school Cheryl Cole hair do!

I love the colour, the length and the volume! Definitely hair goals!

September Favourites ♥

Can’t believe September has been and gone! It was the month my sister started her new journey at university, the month of the most family birthdays/parties and the month where autumn fashion is slowly creeping in on us!

Here are a few of my monthly gems…

I went a bit Zoella product mad this month buying ‘Zoella Madly Creamy Body Lotion’ and ‘Zoella Soak Opera Bath Soak and Shower Cream’. Her products I find are amazing. They are good quality but with a reasonable price. Often if you want a good quality product which you can trust you end up paying more money than you possibly intended, but what I love about her range of products is that her fan base (who include a vast amount of teenage girls) can actually afford them.

Zoella Creamy Madly Dreamy - Body Lotion 160mlZoella Soak Opera - Bath Soak/Shower Cream 490ml

They are sold in Superdrug and were £5.00 each. Both smell amazing – very fresh and flowery. And when you put the bubble bath into the bath you can actually smell the fragrance too. They both leave my skin feeling soft and smelling great! I love these so when these run out I will definitely be buying more!

Soap and Glory – The Righteous Butter Moisturiser

This is an old favourite of mine which I always go back to. I love the smell and the quality. Soap and Glory products are always reliable and amazing. Definitely a must have for your make up bag (they do a mini one too!).

Too Faced Cocoa Contour Kit

Really wish I would have bought two of these from Sephora. This has definitely been my favourite product this year. I love to contour and after trying a few kits this one wins everytime. It is powder based so doesn’t clog under/over your foundation like a paste. The brush is super soft and the product itself smells so good! I literally can’t praise it enough!

On My Wish List

Kate Moss Rimmel Nude Collection

I love her 107 shade so I was so excited to see this nude collection. Now that autumn is coming in, a nude lip feels very suiting!

Sweater Weather Tag

Thank you veeeeery much to the lovely Bapalaya for tagging me to do this post! I had a lot of fun doing this post – you guys should check out her blog it’s fab!

1. Favorite candle scent?

Hmm probably something sweet but not too overpowering. I love Yankee candles – I used to work by a Yankee candle store so every time I was at work I would pop in and have a little browse!

2. Coffee, tea, or hot chocolate?

This is so hard! Erm I love them all, recently I have gotten into the herbal tea life – you can’t beat a bit of green tea with lemon. But my all time favourite would have to be a hot chocolate (made with milk not boiling water) with teeny tiny marshmallows, fresh cream and – hey – why not add a chocolate flake in there too!

3. What’s the best fall memory you have?

Fall usually comes around when it’s the beginning of school/university so I guess my favourite fall memory is that – seeing all my friends again excited (especially at uni with most of my friends living at the other end of the country), everyone in new clothes (and new knit wear fashions) with new stationary ready for the new term/semester/academic year.

4. Which makeup trend do you prefer: dark lips or winged eyeliner?

I am allllll about the dark lipped life. A few of my favourites are Kate Moss 107 and just a simple dark purple from the Topshop’s own range. I love dark lips – day or night really. The only time I would wear eyeliner on top of my eyelid is when I am wearing fake lashes. I tend to go for a more natural look during the day too so I wouldn’t really ever wear winged eyeliner.

5. Best fragrance for fall?

Probably something fruity and fresh – I loveeee Victoria’s Secret body sprays.

6. Favorite Thanksgiving food (or fall food if you don’t celebrate Thanksgiving?)

In England we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving but I guess fall food would be lovely warm homemade meals like pie or homemade soup. So I would probably say that. My grandma makes the best homemade soup!

7. What is autumn weather like where you live?

Crisp and cold! I live in Yorkshire so it generally is quite cold, rainy and breezy in the fall!

8. Most worn sweater?

I have an old school Ralph Lauren Polo black oversized jumper with an American flag on which I wear a lot. It goes so well with leggings and jeans and is really warm! It was a twice hand me down so is proper cosy!

FullSizeRender (4)

9. Must-have nail polish this fall?

Ooh in the fall I prefer a red nail polish with sparkles on top! This ‘Raspberry’ shade by Barry M at £2.99 is perfect!

10. Football games or jumping in leaf piles?

Football games definitely! I am going to watch my favourite team Manchester City next weekend wooo! My dad and I always go to football games together and I love it!

11. Skinny jeans or leggings?

I love skinny jeans for going out tucked into some chunky boots or Uggs but for the days in when it is raining outside and I’m chilling, I prefer leggings!

12. Combat boots or Uggs?

To me you either love Uggs or hate them and I must admit I am a huge fan of them (on girls though – I think they look bizarre on men!). My parents bought me some one year for my birthday and I LOVED them – I literally never took them off.

13. Is pumpkin spice worth the hype?

Do ya know I have never ever tried it! I shall have to try some and see if it is indeed worth the hype!

14. Favorite fall TV show?

I am not sure but I loveeee watching Sex and the City at the moment! I’m watching the whole box set in order.

15. What song really gets you into the fall spirit?

Probably ‘Otto Knows – Million Voices’ as this was my freshers song. So every time September/October comes around I always think of this song!

16. Halloween- Yay or Nay?

YAY. At uni Halloween was amazing in my final year we had a special night out called Mayhem where you paid for a wrist band and could get into 5 different clubs. I remember that night being so much fun. When I was little I used to love Halloween – my mom would take my sister and I trick or treating and we would come back with loads of goodies! Although one year my sister and I were pretty annoyed at one man that gave us an orange instead of sweeties!

17. Fall mornings or evenings?

I love the mornings in the fall. I walk to work everyday and the mornings are perfect – crisp but warm at the same time because of the morning sun.

18. What do you think about Black Friday?

I personally wouldn’t ever buy anything on Black Friday. For me, shopping is a calm, relaxing and therapeutic experience and nothing screams ‘STRESSSSSSSS’ like rushing around red faced, people shoving/elbowing you and panic buying. I wouldn’t even do it online because I’d end up buying stuff I wouldn’t even want or need because it is on sale. I would prefer to pay full price than ruin my calm shopping experience. LOL rant over.

19. One Fall 2015 trend you love?

I can’t pick oneeeee! I am a huge knit wear/big coat lover. I loveeee buying new scarves, hats and gloves and also a new winter coat. I bought a scarf last year from Topshop and it is navy and red patterned (it has reversible patterns on the other side). It is so thick and lovely and warm. So chunky knit wear and winter coats are my fave 2015 fall trend.

20. Favorite type of pie?

I literally cannot even pick one haha everyone knows that pie is my all time favourite food. Probably meat and potato pie for mains and apple pie with custard for dessert!

I would like to nominate anybody and everybody who wants to do this tag! xox

Fashionista’s Dream Closet

One of the things I tend to hoard is clothes. Every time I step onto my local high street I am drawn into boutiques and big branded stores. ‘I’ll just browse’ are my famous last words, then before you know it I emerge from the shop’s interior armed with colourful bags of latest additions to my ever growing addiction. Sure, I love fashion as much as the next fashion and beauty blogger, but for me, it isn’t about the latest craze, it’s about what makes me look and feel fabulous. Where do I house my expanding collection you might ask? Well I have two rails, two sets of draws and a wardrobe bursting full of fabrics in my bedroom. In future I would love a closet or walk in wardrobe to house my collection.

I am currently re-designing my bedroom since I moved back home permanently from university. Recently I have really taken an interest in interior design. I have mood boards and several inspirations for this. One inspiration was Compass, a real estate platform based in New York. To me, New York reminds me of Sex and the City with Carrie Bradshaw’s amazing closet (I’m talking about the one Mr Big designed for her). Their website has so many gorgeous New York apartments!

One particular inspiration I got from compass was an apartment called ‘The Arthur‘ based in Chelsea, Manhattan.

245 West 25th Street Image #1

Here I envisioned a closet to rival Carrie Bradshaw’s. I would love my perfect closet to be modern – with a chandelier hanging from the ceiling. Like the one below from Next.

Aubrey 4 Light

I would have white shelving and rails to go around the outsides of the walls, with a large mirror in the middle of the room. Similar to this Charlotte Pewter floor mirror also from Next.

Charlotte Pewter Floor Mirror

In the middle of the closet would be seating similiar to the one in this couture closet below.

It would be split up into sections such as blazers, jumpers, cardigans, shirts etc. With special shelving dedicated to my shoes (which surprisingly I don’t have many pairs of!). I have found so much inspiration for my mood boards on my room revamp and my dream closet! I will keep you posted with before and after pictures once I have got past the painting phase!
