April Favourites ♥

This year is going so so quickly! Some amazing things have happened this month! I can confirm that I will be in America for three months this summer! I am super excited! (Any tips on travelling to the USA are very much welcome in the comments section below!). Also in April I went on my first run in a while because I want to do a half marathon soon! My time was what I wanted so this was a promising start! As well as this I have finally finished my first book since completing my degree (which ended almost a year ago!). When I completed my English Literature degree I strangely had little desire to finish a whole book as I read about 1-2 a week for 3 years. It didn’t feel like reading was a pleasure anymore but more like something I had to do in order to formulate an assignment. It wasn’t that I fell out of love with literature per-say..believe me I tried to read but could never stick with a book long enough so now I have about 7 half read books lying about my house! But I am so glad that I am finally out of this reading funk because I truly enjoy reading! It is also why I haven’t really blogged as much too because of the sheer volume of essay writing required for my degree. Fashion and beauty is my passion so I am excited to share a few purchases I have made this month…

♥ Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lip gloss shade Plums Up

My auntie is a huge fan of the Sexy Mother Pucker lip gloss range from Soap and Glory. I have always thought the lip glosses they do were really pretty shades so on a spontaneous trip around Boots I picked this one up. Once you apply it to your lips it makes them tingle as it ‘plumps them’. I don’t really know if it does make them any bigger as my lips as quite big but I do know that it is a gorgeous shade! It isn’t a sticky lip gloss and stays on a while so would for sure recommend this product. £9.00

♥ Eyelure London Exaggerate No 145 Fake Eyelashes

I needed some last minute fake lashes for a night out so bought these from Boots. Eyelure has in my opinion always been a reliable brand for fake lashes so went straight for these! There were lots of different types but I usually go for volume (when I was younger I used to wear two pairs of fake lashes on nights out!!). They were only £5.45 and came with glue. The glue is a bit rubbish but thankfully I have my own glue! Lashes great but glue not so great!

♥ Natural Collection Lip Liner Ruby Rose

This lip liner is only £1.99 from Boots. It is really good! I needed a lip liner for my VIVA GLAM MAC lip stick as it bleeds sometimes. It is super for the price – would definitely recommend!

♥ MAC Ruby Woo Lipstick

This is in my opinion an essential for any girl to have in her make up bag! Class matte red lipstick from MAC. £15.50 but well worth the price!

My May Wish List Item  – Benefit’s Brow Zings!

Eyebrow shaping kit with all the tools you need for clean, smooth, perfect brows!

March Favourites ♥

March has been such a good month! Now the weather is finally warmer I have been able to do some really fun summery things like going to the park for ice creams with my little cousin or sitting sipping cocktails outside (pretending I am somewhere exotic like Barcelona when in reality I am in Leeds!). I have also had a few fun nights out, watching my favourite football team Manchester City and I went to see the band The 1975 who were incredible!

Product wise I have discovered some amazing products this month!

The Tangle Teezer

Urban Outfitters, £10.00

No joke you guys this has entirely taken brushing my hair to the next level. I saw an advert or an Instagram post of Kendall Jenner with one and thought surely there is not much of a difference between this and a normal brush? Oh there is! My best friend has one and her hair is gorgeous and long and always looks in amazing condition. I know for sure you can get it much cheaper than £10.00 but it was a bit of an impulse purchase. It doesn’t rip my hair out like normal brushes (even if I brush it wet). It doesn’t make my hair poofy/fizzy and is the perfect size to just pop into my handbag. Would definitely recommend it!

Jack Wills English Velvet Body Butter

Boots, present

I received this gift set from my best friend for Christmas and I am obsessed with the body butter! It smells gorgeous and makes my skin so soft and smooth. It isn’t greasy at all and rubs in really easily. If you are bored of your body butter or wanting to try another one then give this one a try!

MAC Prep and Prime Highlighter Light Boost

MAC, £19.00

I bought this product because I didn’t actually own a highlighter! I use it when contouring. I put it under my eyes, on my cupids bow, chin and along my nose and blend it in with a beauty blender sponge. I love this product. You twist the bottom and enough comes out with one twist so you don’t have to waste the product. It blends into my skin or into my foundation really well, never looks patchy and really highlights the features I want to. I know it is a bit pricey but will last me around 6 months I recon.

My oldie but goodie…

MAC All Fired Up Retro Matte Lipstick

MAC, £15.50

For some reason I have been wearing this constantly. I have fallen back in love with this lipstick! This was my first ever MAC product and I still love it. The colour is so girly and lovely. It is matte based so I do need some form of primer for my lips before I apply it (vaseline is usually what I go for). I think it looks great with either natural make up or going out make up.

My Wish List…

Rimmel 1000 Kisses Lipliner Indian Pink 4

Rimmel 1000 Kisses Lipliner Indian Pink 4

Boots/Superdrug, £2.99

This was recommended to me by one of my best friends and I really want to buy it! Whenever I have been into Boots there hasn’t been the shade I want! I always think lipliner makes lipstick look so much neater! Will definitely have to hunt this down or buy online!

September Favourites ♥

Can’t believe September has been and gone! It was the month my sister started her new journey at university, the month of the most family birthdays/parties and the month where autumn fashion is slowly creeping in on us!

Here are a few of my monthly gems…

I went a bit Zoella product mad this month buying ‘Zoella Madly Creamy Body Lotion’ and ‘Zoella Soak Opera Bath Soak and Shower Cream’. Her products I find are amazing. They are good quality but with a reasonable price. Often if you want a good quality product which you can trust you end up paying more money than you possibly intended, but what I love about her range of products is that her fan base (who include a vast amount of teenage girls) can actually afford them.

Zoella Creamy Madly Dreamy - Body Lotion 160mlZoella Soak Opera - Bath Soak/Shower Cream 490ml

They are sold in Superdrug and were £5.00 each. Both smell amazing – very fresh and flowery. And when you put the bubble bath into the bath you can actually smell the fragrance too. They both leave my skin feeling soft and smelling great! I love these so when these run out I will definitely be buying more!

Soap and Glory – The Righteous Butter Moisturiser

This is an old favourite of mine which I always go back to. I love the smell and the quality. Soap and Glory products are always reliable and amazing. Definitely a must have for your make up bag (they do a mini one too!).

Too Faced Cocoa Contour Kit

Really wish I would have bought two of these from Sephora. This has definitely been my favourite product this year. I love to contour and after trying a few kits this one wins everytime. It is powder based so doesn’t clog under/over your foundation like a paste. The brush is super soft and the product itself smells so good! I literally can’t praise it enough!

On My Wish List

Kate Moss Rimmel Nude Collection

I love her 107 shade so I was so excited to see this nude collection. Now that autumn is coming in, a nude lip feels very suiting!

August Favourites ♥

I cannot believe I am doing the August favourites! (Seriously where has this Summer gone?!) I am a few days late in writing it (oops) but I can assure you that I do have a very good reason! I went on a long weekend away to Cumbria which was really lovely and I have been taking personal training sessions which I am really enjoying! Anyway enough of the excuse rambling..without further a do here are my August favourites…

1) MAC Haute and Naughty Lash Waterproof Mascara £19.00

Something I am loving a lot this past month was the MAC Haute and Naughty Lash Waterproof Mascara. This is so good! I bought a Haute and Naughty Lash Mascara before from MAC but it wasn’t the waterproof version so I thought I would try this version and I’m glad I did! It is honestly amazing – my mascara never comes off – like ever. If it’s raining or I’m at the gym it doesn’t so much as budge off my eyelashes. There is a teeny flaw in that it barely comes off even in the shower so I have to use product to remove it all. But as far as waterproof mascaras go this one is fab!

2) VIVA GLAM Miley Cyrus Lipstick £15.50

 VIVA GLAM Miley Cyrus Lipstick

I have ranted and raved about this lipstick in the past and I swear by it. I wear it everyday for work and on nights out. It stays on so well, the colour is gorgeous and as it isn’t a matte based lipstick it is really easy to apply! Plus it is for a good cause too as a portion of the sales go to helping people with AIDS/HIV.

3) Maybelline Dream MATTE mousse foundation £7.69

Every so often I like to change up my foundation and this high street one I love! It isn’t a cream – the only thing I can describe it as is a crumbly paste (which doesn’t sound good at all but I can assure you it is!). This was my first ever foundation and when it runs out I just buy a top up. It isn’t as heavy feeling as my MAC or Dior one. It is quite light on my skin and I just use it for a base really if I have any blemishes and don’t want to do my whole face with liquid foundation. This foundation is definitely better in heat than liquid ones because you don’t go shiny when you wear it. There are so many shades available too I tend to opt for the Honey Beige shade. It’s a good value for money!

4) Solait Self Tan Tinted Lotion (on sale at the moment in Superdrug for £3.45!)

This is definitely a favourite of mine. I don’t tan often at all but when I do this is my go-to lotion. It is subtle (the more layers you apply the less subtle/more tanned you become). It doesn’t make you go orange at all – people think I have gone abroad when I wear this! Plus it is such a great value for money usually it is about £7.99.

My Beauty Wish List

Going to the gym more often my hands tend to get rough  (where the bar rubs against them) so I am definitely going to buy some Soap and Glory Hand Food! I absolutely love the scent and the packaging!

July Favourites ♥

July has been a pretty hectic month for me! I have been working at my new job, been away for a week with my family to Centerparcs, had my graduation ceremony and graduation ball and been on holiday to Budapest! So this monthly favourites is going to be more travel based.

1) Simple Kind to Eyes Eye Make-Up Remover

£3.39 at Boots

I bought this from Boots but you can pretty much buy it at any supermarket and toiletary store like Superdrug. I used this after grad ball to get my smokey eyes off! What I do is put a little bit (so it covers the middle of the make-up pad) onto a make up pad and wipe my eye lids with it. My eyes are really sensitive to certain face wipes and make-up but this product doesn’t irritate it at all. It is perfect for your holiday as well (especially if it is hot and your make up smudges).

2) Bio-Oil

Depends what size you get as to price. It is sold at toiletry stores like Boots and Superdrug and at supermarkets like Tescos and Asda. I try to use Bio-Oil once a week all over my skin to re-hydrate it. I used it on holiday as a substitute for after sun when my skin was burnt. It really eased my sore skin after being in the sun all day! I would recommend taking the smaller one for travelling. Bio-Oil is renowned for helping to fade scars and stretch marks too so it is wonderful stuff!

3) Sephora mattifying compact powder – clair light 20

This pressed powder was perfect for my holidays. It evened out my skin tone but also made my skin appear non-oily. It is really easy to apply (I usually apply it with Sephora’s precision powder 59 brush). It goes well over my foundation or just on my bare skin.

4) Victoria’s Secret Mango Temptation Fragrance Mist

Mango Temptation Fragrance Mist

£9.30 or Special 3/£16.60 or 5/£19.92 from Victoria’s Secret Online Store

I love Victoria’s Secret body mists for summer because they smell so fresh. I always buy fruity smelling fragrances from there. This bottle is perfect to have in your handbag in case you want to freshen up. The smell is not too strong and I quite like using body mists as opposed to sprays!

5) Vaseline

Good old vaseline. I always pack this with me on flights as well as have one in my handbag with me everywhere I go. It was perfect in Budapest because the temperature was so so hot and I didn’t want my lips to burn. I use the pink one so it has a lip gloss effect but the plain one works just as well!

On My Wish List…

This mini perfume set from Victoria’s Secret – £29.88

Eau de Parfum Gift Box

June Favourites ♥

June has been such a great month for me! I have moved back home from university and started my new job! I have also been to Prague, rejoined the gym and done loads of fun stuff with my family! I have bought a load of new products too and here are my favourites…

1) Barry M Brow Kit

You can get this from Boots, Superdrug and even River Island! My cousin recommended this to me a while ago and I saw it whilst waiting to pay at River Island. It is amazing – it has a white shadow for under and over your brows to make them look more defined, as well as two shades of brown for your brows. It has a two sided angled brush as well as some mini tweezers which are actually pretty good! My brows always look natural when I use the kit. I personally find it a lot better than an eyebrow pencil because it lasts a lot longer and also looks more natural once applied.

2) Too Faced Cocoa Contour

I bought this in Sephora from Prague and I really wish I had bought about five of these because it is honestly the best contour kit I have come across! Some contour kits can make it look really obvious that you have contoured whereas this is really subtle but still does the job. There are two dark shades, one light shade and a shimmer shade to highlight your cheekbones further! It comes with a little brush too which is really handy! I use that brush for the dark shading and just a regular powder brush for the lighter colours!

3) Foundation Sponge

I bought this from BB Beautique. It is incredible! My foundation brush literally just moved my foundation around my face but this sponge really rubs it in. It is perfect for over my contour because I can use different sides to rub over the dark and the light which is useful. Also the tip is really useful for detail work especially around my eyes and hair line. They are super cheap – I think this one was only three pounds.

4) Sephora’s eyeshadow – ‘Hollywood’s Calling 82′

Another Sephora product I am in love with! I love the golden brown shimmery shade! It stays on and the glitter doesn’t spread over my face either. It can be applied on the lid or in the corners or below your eye. I love it!

5) Norwegian Hand Cream

You can get this at pretty much any drugs store like Boots or Superdrug. I bought it to go on my desk at work to moisturise my hands during the day. It is so good and smells great! It leaves my hands feeling so soft! It was really cheap too – less than three pounds!

On my wish list for July…

Sheen Supreme Insanely It MAC Lipstick

 Sheen Supreme Lipstick

April Favourites ♥

Woo it’s that time again where I have to tell you an array of my beauty favourites this month! There are so many I could have chosen!

1) Lady Danger MAC Lipstick

 Lipstick

£15.50 online.

Love this lipstick, such a great bold colour which stays on a while. I was looking for this shade for so long! I actually bought a lipstick like this first from a little make up shop in my university town but I had to reapply it so often. This lipstick is much better!

I went shopping to Manchester recently and I was browsing the Dior make up counter (wishing I could buy every single thing) when the sales woman said to me ‘I love your lipstick – it’s Lady Danger right?’ (WHAT?!) I was completely blown away how this lady just looked at my lips and knew the exact brand and the exact name of my lipstick. It completely made my day! (to which my mom said ‘if I was wearing my Ruby Woo MAC she would have guessed that also :P).

2) Aromantic Products

Free samples.

My Flatmate makes her own beauty products and they are incredible! The shampoo smells like lavender and is perfect size if you are travelling. The moisturiser is also lavender scented. It really made my skin so soft. The lip balm is orange scented. It tints your lips also which is great because you do not need to apply any gloss/ lipstick over the top.

3) Kate Moss 107 Lipstick

Rimmel Kate Matte Lipstick Wine 107

£5,49 Superdrug.

I have been wanting this lipstick for so long now and finallllly bought it! It is a deep red colour so it is better to apply it in addition to a lip liner. It is long lasting and a great value for money.

4) MAC Kohl Eye Pencil

 Eye Kohl

£14.00 online.

In recent posts I haven’t really rated this but the more I am using it the more I like it. It’s smudgable and easy to apply. I love how dark it is. It has to be topped up quite a lot though. However despite this, it is honestly the best eyeliner I have used (it’s a tough rival to Lancome’s eyeliner). My sister had a bit of an eyeliner drama before she was going out (her eyeliner went poof), so I lent her my MAC one. She applied it to her lids then took a liquid eyeliner to wing the edge out. This is such a good tip that I didn’t know before then! For a more sharper and tidier look use liquid to wing at the edges and the pencil for the lids.

5) Simple Light Moisturiser

£4.50 Boots.

This cream is incredible! I use it as an all over moisturiser not just for my face. It really hydrates my skin and I use it as a primer before applying my foundation. It makes my skin feel really fresh and so soft. The cream is not greasy or oily also which is a bonus.
