London!

So last week I went on an amazing trip to London with one of my best friends! I absolutely love London – there is so much to do! We went for a whole weekend and managed to cram so much in!

There’s a train which goes from my home town directly to London Kings Cross Station (which also stops at Lauren’s home town along the way so it was perfect!). Once we got off the train we caught the tube to our hotel which was incredible! It was called The Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel and was situated right next to Big Ben and the London Eye!

How close I was to Big Ben from my hotel!

On our first night we explored and had a lovely walk along the embankment. We had a meal alongside the river Thames which was amazing!

Our first day was jam packed! We started the day getting tickets to the Audrey Hepburn exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery. The tickets sold out about five people after us so we were so so lucky!

We went to Brick Lane where they have all the vintage shops. This was amazing because I love vintage clothes. I have never really been in a proper vintage shop before and I loved it. Everything was one of a kind. I spotted this tweed blazer which had brown elbow pads and I fell in love with it straight away! I have always wanted one but never truly seen one I have liked and this one was perfect!

Then we took the tube to Camden. The shops were so unique. There were so many market stalls too, selling everything from clothes to jewellery to freshly made food. I loved both Camden and Brick Lane because it was unlike anything I had ever seen before!

We then went to the Audrey Hepburn exhibition which was amazing! I loveeee the old school fashion icons like Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn. My Mom had actually told me about this exhibition weeks ago (because she loves her) so it was so good that I actually got to go. It closed the day after we went too! The exhibition was unseen photographs of Audrey throughout her life and I found out so much information about her that I never knew before.

After our exhibition we went for a meal at Pizza Express and got ready to see a show on the West End! We saw the show : Jersey Boys. This is based on the lives of the band members in the Four Seasons. The show was fantastic! We were singing and clapping the whole way through! Afterwards we walked back to our hotel still singing the songs!

London day 2

Day two was so much fun! We set off fairly early to collect our London Eye tickets. Then we went into the ‘London Eye 4D Experience’, this was really cool! It was like a 3D cinema but had extra effects like a snow machine! Then we hopped on the London Eye. This is really a must-do if you ever go to London. The views are incredible, also there are interactive screens up there that lets you know what you are seeing and a bit of information about it.

We then had hugeeee full english breakfasts alongside the Thames! I have always wanted to go to London Dungeons so we bought tickets and dared to go inside! I love scary stuff and history so this was right up my street. It basically took you through London’s history but in a really interesting way, with actors and special effects. I learnt about the Black Death, when Guy Fawkes tried to blow up Parliament and Jack the Ripper to name a few.

Then we caught the tube to Covent Garden. I absolutely love it here, with the food, the street entertainers and the shops of course! Lauren bought this beautiful Michael Kors purse! We went into MAC too and I had to restrain myself from buying more products! Then Lauren found this amazing place to eat. I think it was called Maxwells! We had a lovely meal and the nicest cocktails (which we so cheap compared to usual London prices too!).

Sadly then we had to get the train home! I had suuuuch a fun weekend in my capital city!

Eeeek thank you so much to Clarina for nominating me for the Beauty Blogger Award! I loveeee receiving these! Make sure to check out her blog and her Youtube channel!

Here gooooes…

What’s your number one holy grail high street or ‘drugstore’ product?

It would have to be vaseline! I swear by it – whether it is chapped lips/skin, holding your eyebrow shape in place, highlighting your cheek bones – I love it! It is so kind to skin and soo unbelievably cheap!

Which product is currently on the top of your wishlist?

MAC Sculpt and Shape Powder to add to my contour product collection!

 Sculpt and Shape Powder

How long have you been blogging for?

I’ve been blogging now for almost three years! It has gone super quick and my blog has evolved so much over those three years. I am so happy with the direction it has taken. It all started in my room at my halls of residence at university!

What’s your favourite item of clothing for the cooler months?

I love my knit wear! My Grandma gave me a dark pink turtle neck jumper last winter and I absolutely love it! She has the matching one in light pink!

What inspired you to start your blog?

A few things inspired me really. I watched the film ‘Perfect Man’ when I was younger and had my Hilary Duff obsession. In that film the main character has a blog and it really interested me but when I was little blogging really wasn’t a thing or wasn’t as big as it is now. Another thing which inspired me to start my blog was Carrie Bradshaw! She’s a cosmopolitan, fashion loving writer from New York in the well known programme Sex and The City – and well who wouldn’t want to be her?!

The favourite part of your makeup routine?

Contouring! I loveeee contouring! I have now worked out (after a lot of trial and error!) the best shapes and shades for the different parts of my face now! I love contouring with my Sephora contouring kit – it is definitely my favourite make up item I own at the moment!

What’s your favourite brand of makeup?

MAC is definitely my favourite brand of make up. Even though at times it can be quite costly, all my items I have bought from there are amazing quality and last such a long time! I want to know that what I am putting on my skin is good for it and I can guarantee when I buy MAC branded products that I won’t have an allergic reaction or anything. Also I think the products themselves are incredible – the lipsticks especially are amazing!

What’s one product you think everyone should own?

Simple Moisturiser Light. I literally swear by this. I use it as a primer, as a moisturiser, as a hand cream and as an aftersun. It is super cheap (often in the 3 for 2 deal at Boots). I always buy this product about 3 at a time! It makes my skin feel so fresh and unlike other moisturisers it doesn’t leave your skin feeling oily. Also it’s great for all skin types – my younger cousin uses it as well as my Grandma!

What is your favourite skin care product that you feel has made the most difference in your skin?

Probably Simple Cleanser, Simple Toner and Simple Moisturiser Light used together. The cleanse-tone-moisturise routine did my skin wonders! These products are so friendly to my skin and are high street brands too so they don’t break the bank!

If you could have any celebrities hair, whose would it be?

It would have to be the old school Cheryl Cole hair do!

I love the colour, the length and the volume! Definitely hair goals!

Name a Beauty Regimen You Rarely Do

I used to be so into the whole cleanse-tone-moisturise routine. When I was at university I was so good with it, I would do it twice a day but now I have moved home I kinda just skip the cleanse-tone stage and go straight to the moisturise! So I would have to say this is the regimen I rarely do nowadays – definitely something I should improve on!

Is Washing Your Make Up Brushes Something You Regularly Do?

I would love to say yes but I always put off doing it! I need to invest in one of those products which when washing brushes you run them over the edges to get off the excess make up.

How Long Do You Last With Chipped Nail Polish?

About a day! I once had shellac put on and it chipped within about 4 days of having it done and I couldn’t stand seeing it chipped so took the whole thing off that day!

How Long Do You Put Off Buying/Replacing A Beauty Product If You Need It?

If it is a beauty essential like make up wipes, moisturiser, face wash etc I buy it just before the other one runs out so I can go straight into using a new one but if my favourite lipstick runs out I wouldn’t urgently replace it – I would buy it when I next popped into town or went into a MAC store.

What’s Your Worst Beauty Habit?

The equivalent of double dipping I suppose but with my brushes! So for eye shadow brushes using it in one eye shadow then not washing it before I use it in another! Also with my bronzer brush – using it for my bronzer and my brown contour interchangeably!

Name Something Non-Beauty Related That You Put Off Doing Most Of The Time

My ironing – literally who wants to stand there and iron shirts? It is soooo boring! But unfortunately it has to be done!

Can You Commit To No Make Up Buys?

Sure! If I don’t need anything I will genuinely have enough will power! But it doesn’t stop me having a cheeky browse I suppose…

How Organised Is Your Make Up And Nail Polish Collection?

At the moment I have all my products I use rarely in a huge washing up basin and the ones I use most regularly on my mantel piece below my mirror. My nail polishes are piled into a box (which makes finding the one I want difficult!). When I have my bedroom sorted out this would be ideal…

September Favourites ♥

Can’t believe September has been and gone! It was the month my sister started her new journey at university, the month of the most family birthdays/parties and the month where autumn fashion is slowly creeping in on us!

Here are a few of my monthly gems…

I went a bit Zoella product mad this month buying ‘Zoella Madly Creamy Body Lotion’ and ‘Zoella Soak Opera Bath Soak and Shower Cream’. Her products I find are amazing. They are good quality but with a reasonable price. Often if you want a good quality product which you can trust you end up paying more money than you possibly intended, but what I love about her range of products is that her fan base (who include a vast amount of teenage girls) can actually afford them.

Zoella Creamy Madly Dreamy - Body Lotion 160mlZoella Soak Opera - Bath Soak/Shower Cream 490ml

They are sold in Superdrug and were £5.00 each. Both smell amazing – very fresh and flowery. And when you put the bubble bath into the bath you can actually smell the fragrance too. They both leave my skin feeling soft and smelling great! I love these so when these run out I will definitely be buying more!

Soap and Glory – The Righteous Butter Moisturiser

This is an old favourite of mine which I always go back to. I love the smell and the quality. Soap and Glory products are always reliable and amazing. Definitely a must have for your make up bag (they do a mini one too!).

Too Faced Cocoa Contour Kit

Really wish I would have bought two of these from Sephora. This has definitely been my favourite product this year. I love to contour and after trying a few kits this one wins everytime. It is powder based so doesn’t clog under/over your foundation like a paste. The brush is super soft and the product itself smells so good! I literally can’t praise it enough!

On My Wish List

Kate Moss Rimmel Nude Collection

I love her 107 shade so I was so excited to see this nude collection. Now that autumn is coming in, a nude lip feels very suiting!
