Blogmas Day 8 – Hand Cream and Football!

Today…

I went to watch your team I support – Manchester City play against Mönchengladbach with my dad. We have been going to football games ever since I was younger. I always really enjoy going and it’s a great way to spend quality time with my dad. I went to watch city when I was about 11 and have supported them ever since! It was such a fantastic game as we scored three times in about five minutes! The atmosphere was great and the score ended 4-2 to city!

Door eight of my beauty advent revealed…

… 10ml of No7 protect and perfect day intense hand cream

Through going to the gym I use hand cream so much more now so my hands stay super soft! I love Soap and Glory’s Hand Food also so I will have to see whether this is a worthy rival!

Blogmas Day 7 – Life with acrylics and mini haul!

Day 7 of my No7 advent calendar revealed…

… 4ml of No7 Gel Finish Nail Colour – Red

Whilst we’re on the topic of nail varnishes… I got acrylic nails put on for the first time EVER in all my 22 years on Saturday.

I’ve never felt the need to have them because I either paint my nails or leave them filed and plain. My sister has had acrylics a few times and they’ve looked so good so we thought on my birthday we should get them done. Let me tell you it hasn’t all been a smooth sailing relationship with me and these nails! The great thing about them is that I love that I can literally do nothing to my nails for roughly three weeks and they’ll stay looking fab.

Buuuut (and here comes the but) it is so hard doing little daily tasks with them! For instance before I didn’t think twice about cranking open my advent calendar doors daily – now I can’t get my chocolate out! (I had to ask my mom to help me this morning 🙄). Also everytime I want to type at work on my keyboard or text it automatically is accompanied with a clicking noise now! I think these talons will take some getting used to!

My Mini Haul!

So on my birthday I went on a lil shopping spree! I only bought a few things as it was a spontaneous trip!

The first thing I bought was a jumper from topshop. I love cosy jumpers and couldn’t resist buying this one! It’s so soft. I love plain, classic pieces and this will go with jeans, skirts and be used in all seasons!

£26.00

Topshop

The second thing I bought was from New Look. I bought some slouchy jeans about a month ago from River Island, but I bought them just a tad too big! So I’ve been on a serious hunt for a belt ever since! I literally couldn’t find one suitable anywhere! But I was pleasantly surprised to find New Look had a great selection!

£3.99

New Look

The final item I bought on my birthday was a gorgeous pair of dark brown boots also from New Look. I rarely buy brown boots because I always go straight for black ones so I thought I’d try a different style for once instead of adding to my black boot collection!

£19.99

New Look

Blogmas Day 6 – Eye shadow, TGIs and sibling OOTD!

Today…

… my family and I went to TGIs for my birthday meal – it was so yummy! I love their mozzarella sticks. My mom had never been before either! Then we came home and chilled before taking my sister to the train station because she had to go back to university.

Doors five and six of my beauty advent revealed…

4ml of No7 shine and tint glossy gel

  • lasting tint

This lip gloss is such a gorgeous shade. It stays on for so long too. I will probably use a lip liner with it so it doesn’t smudge. I love it!

1.5g of No7 Stay Perfect Eye Shadow from the forest fruits trio

No7 Stay Perfect Eye Shadow Trio Forest Fruits

  • blends effortlessly and lasts for hours

The shade I have is the bottom one. It is very autumnal and wintery. I think I will use it in the outer corners of my eyelids for the smokey eye look I use for nights out. I can’t wait to try it out!

Today’s OOTD…

As worn by my sister to my birthday TGIs meal…

Coat – Primark

Jumper – H & M

Jeans – Topshop

Boots – Topshop

Blogmas Day 4 – exfoliator, dominoes and wild child!

Today I…

… am celebrating my birthday eve with one of my best friends on a girls night in!

We had the ultimate feast of Dominoes, chocolate and Pringles!

We watched our favourite rom coms including Wild Child!

Day four of my advent calendar revealed…

… 15ml of No7 beautiful skin radiance exfoliator

I can’t wait to use it! It smells divine and will make my skin really soft!

Blogmas Day 3 – Primer, Happiness and Favourites

Day three of Blogmas and still going strong whoop whoop!

Today I…

… went for lunch with my mom on our lunch break! We usually go out for lunch once a week together in our lunch break to Wetherspoons. Today we went for a panini and a wrap! I had the nicest hot chocolate with whipped cream on top! After work I read some of ‘The Happiness Project’ by Gretchen Rubin. It is amazing – I saw it recommended on a blog I was reading a while back and thought it sounded good! It is basically one woman’s journey on changing the little things in her life to make her and others surrounding her happier. You go through the whole research process with her and it provides a template if you like into creating your own happiness project. I have only read a little bit but so far I am really enjoying it. So if anyone is stuck for a book to read and wants to be happier this is will do the trick!

Day two of my beauty advent calendar revealed…

10ml of No7 Instant Illusions Airbrush Away Primer

A primer is always something I have wanted in my make up bag but have actually never gotten around to buying one! I have just used a dab of moisturiser and jobs been a good ‘un! So I am really pleased to have received some in my beauty advent! I can’t wait to try it out and see if it is worth buying a bigger version!

Blogmas Day One

Blogmas Day Two

Blogmas Day 2 – Bodywash and Christmas Wishing

Day two of Blogmas here we go!

Today I…

… went out for tea at one of my most favourite restaurants – Ricci’s Place – with one of my dearest friends! We ate and chatted and ate some more! We shared some breaded nachos and I had a venison burger which was so yummy! I had never tried venison before either!

Day two of my beauty advent calendar revealed…

50 ml of No7 Beautiful Skin and Blissful Body Wash

I haven’t tried this out yet because I am going to save it to use on my birthday in three days! It says it is creamy soft for silky smooth skin. I can’t wait to use this!

Five random things on my Christmas wish list…

Urban Decay Naked2 Eyeshadow Palette
I have a few little eye shadows from Sephora and MAC but do not own my own palette! I would love one of these!
James Bay – Chaos and the Calm CD
Ever since I saw him perform at Park Life I love him! I find his music so chilled and calming. It is so unlike anything in the charts at the moment.
Foam Roller!
Now that I spend so much of my life at the gym (it is literally my second home) I ache a lotttttt. Foam rolling after a session really helps my aches and pains, at the moment I have been using my PT’s foam roller so it would be great to have my own!
MAC Haute and Naughty Lash Mascara
Having tried to waterproof version of this mascara and not liking it much I have decided to go back to the none waterproof version! Best mascara hands down I have ever ever had! The only reason I prefer this version to the waterproof version is that I practically needed a shovel to get it off! No amount of washing/product/face wipes would get that war paint off of my eye lashes without waking up resembling what can only be described as the Kung-Fu-Panda-Look (not my most attractive look I must say). But still – rate MAC, rate their mascara, decent price soo how can I resist!
Zoella Soak Opera
Loved this product from the first time I bought it – smells amazing, makes my skin soft and my bath never fails to feel relaxing with this in! It is a product I always renew.

Blogmas Day 1 -Moisturising Madness

Sooo today I was really excited because for the first time ever I have a beauty advent calendar! I have seen other beauty bloggers and vloggers have beauty advent calendars and thought about how much I wanted one. My mom surprised my sister and I with them the other night!

The one we have is the Boots No 7 25 Days of Beauty Wonders! This was literally gold dust to get- so much so that you were only really allowed one per person!

Today door one revealed…

25ml of No7 Protect and Perfect Intense Advanced Day Cream

  • It protects against sun rays
  • Anti-aging
  • Hypo-allergenic

It smells beautiful and rubs in really easily without the greasy after affect. In today’s Blogmas I wanted to share a few of my favourite high street moisturisers and why I love them so much.

My all time favourite…

Simple Light Moisturiser

£4.19 Boots

  • Perfect for dry skin, chapped skin (I used it as aftersun), primer and all over body moisturiser
  • Super cheap
  • The Simple products are really kind to skin (I tend to use their cleanser/toner/moisturiser/face wipes/face wash/shampoo

Coming in at a close second…

Zoella’s Creamy Madly Deeply

£5.00 Superdrug

I love all her products and what I think is amazing is that she has made them so reasonably priced. There are often mix and match on her products too in Superdrug.

  • Smells amazing!
  • You get lots for your money
  • Beautiful packaging
  • Leaves my skin feeling soft and pampered

In third place…

Soap and Glory The Righteous Butter

£10.00

Good old Soap and Glory. I will always value their products. This is more of a body butter then moisturiser so it is a bit thicker to apply but nonetheless still a worthy candidate in my top three.

  • They do mini teeny ones perfect size to put in your hand bag
  • Smells divine and unlike the Simple moisturiser the smell lasts too after rubbing it in
  • Makes my skin so smooth
  • You don’t need to apply much of it at a time because it is so thick so the big tub lasts a longgg timee

Let me know below any moisturisers you would recommend or if you have a beauty advent calendar too!

Blogmas 2015!

Something I really really enjoyed writing about last year on my blog was ‘Blogmas’. For those of you who have never heard of it (or heard of Vlogmas) or have read about it but don’t really know what it is then hold your breath no longer fellow bloggers… Blogmas is blogging everyday from December 1st to December 25th! I love the run up to Christmas and Blogmas kind of documents that I guess. Last year my posts ranged from what I did on certain days to gift ideas. So I have decided to do it again this year for a number of reasons really…

♥ Christmas is definitely my favourite time of year

♥ I have been slacking a lot on the post writing front these days (due to various reasons – personal training sessions at the gym, catching up with friends and family mostly). So Blogmas is such a good way to get into writing regularly again

♥ I love love love interacting with new bloggers and last year from Blogmas I got to discover so many bloggers I had never heard of before through their Blogmas’s or people interacting with my posts. I have always found the blogging community to be so lovely, supportive and positive

♥ I get to share with you crazy, random posts! Like I said my Blogmas has no real structure to it per-say, it is just what I feel inspired to write whether that is a hair tutorial or how to bake the perfect Christmas themed goodies!

♥ I love a challenge! Last year I found it relatively easy to do because I was at uni and had lotssss of free time but now I am home and in a full time job and have the gym/friends/family commitments it will be challenging to fit it all in! (Not to mention me turning 22 on the 5th day of it – eeeeek!)

So hope you guys enjoy!

Afternoon Tea and Business Awards

This weekend has been filled with glitz and glam! Firstly, I attended the Business Awards hosted by our local paper. The company I work for had sponsored an award so we were all invited! We got glammed up as it was a black tie event.

I wore a navy dress with hand sewn pearls on. It had cut outs at the waist. I had originally bought it from Topshop for my graduation ball but then wore another dress. I never had an occasion posh enough to wear it so was really excited to wear it! My heels were just little black heels from Marks and Spencer and my clutch was a navy clutch from New Look. My mom’s dress (above) was from the Wallis range at Harvey Nichols, her clutch was a gorgeous black sparkly number from Dorothy Perkins.

The evening was really fun, we were given champagne upon arrival, a three course meal and a disco afterwards. When we came out it had started to snow as well!

The part two of my glam filled weekend was afternoon tea and cocktails in Leeds with the ladies in my family. We were celebrating my Mom’s cousin’s 60th birthday so wanted to do something extra special!

The afternoon tea was beautiful, and we had scones and caramel lattes for afterwards! It was such a fun day – cocktails, looking around the Leeds Christmas market and having a ladies luncheon!
